A Quiet Luxury Transformation
​On one of Fort Greene’s most coveted blocks, this 3-story brownstone, built in 1899, presented us with the opportunity to create a home that seamlessly blends historic charm with modern, quiet luxury. Working with a Brooklyn family of four, we embarked on a full-home renovation, preserving the home’s original character while introducing a natural, calming palette rich in texture and depth. The result is a space that feels both historically rooted and refreshingly modern, where every detail has been considered to enhance the beauty of daily life.

The kitchen remodel became the heart of the transformation. We framed the space with new arched architectural windows, allowing morning light to pour in, illuminating the Cle Tile limestone backsplash and custom cabinetry by Reform. The newly installed oak floors, carefully stained to match the millwork, establish a seamless dialogue between past and present, reinforcing the home’s sense of cohesion. We transitioned the kitchen to all-electric appliances, including a Bosch cooktop and integrated drawer dishwashers, balancing modern efficiency with aesthetic restraint.
Executed by Blue Sky Construction, a woman-owned firm led by Amy and her expert team, every aspect of this renovation was approached with precision and care. From restoring intricate original woodwork to incorporating timeless materials, this project reflects our belief that luxury should feel effortless, and a home should be both beautiful and functional. In this Fort Greene brownstone, the balance of historic elegance and modern ease creates a space that is personal, serene, and designed to last.
